Mama Intuition
“My love,
…how many times have I told you to just listen to me?”
Sweet Mama Intuition.
She’s that gut feeling.
The voice of God.
She’s that voice in the back of your head reminding you to be vigilant.
She’s the voice warning you to “keep your pineal gland (third eye) open for this one, because this person might be shi- crappy.” ( my actual mama told me to watch my mouth, we’ll try that out for this one)
Her voice is thick, soft and sweet. Like honey.
I imagine her with a glowing pineal gland and a body adorned in shells and colorful jewels.
She knows, always.
And “she be right”.
How?
Cause’, well… “she be knowing”.
With all of this being said, it makes me wonder…
If she be knowing, why do we be ignoring?
In case you’re wondering, the answer is YES! I’m calling every one of us out so that we don’t all end up ass- uhh… butt out. (hey mom)
Jokes aside…
One of the sweetest things I think there is about Mama Intuition is that she’s not external. She’s connected to every one of us, we all know her. We all feel her presence from time to time. On some occasions we wish we didn’t feel anything because then that way, we wouldn’t need to be more aware of what’s really happening.
Mama Intuition is not separated from you, she’s always with you. This is probably why you get that weird feeling on the way to that toxic ex’s house who swears they’ve changed within the last 24 hours. (yeah fudging right)
It’s probably the reason your spirit raises an eyebrow for that “friend” who never gives a compliment, but always has a mean “joke” at the tip of their tongue. (yeah, we see you too)
It could even be the reason you hear that little voice in your head saying; “don’t do it!”, when you’re about to gulp down that last drink. (cause that thang gone come right back up)
To every time we have ignored her sweet voice, things have gone sour. Have you ever enjoyed sour fruit?
How can we solve all this? I’ll need a lil drumroll right here…….
We do what we should’ve done all 2,222,222 times before – we listen.
The more we take heed of Mama Intuition’s wisdom, the more we gain wisdom. Sweet, isn’t it?
My brother is a writer, one of the most straight forward yet on point quotes he ever wrote was;
“Trust your instincts, you ain’t f*cking crazy.”
(Sorry mama, he said it not me)
It is important though, NOT to mistake paranoia for intuition; we must remain STILL and listen to spirit. Intuition does not come from a place of fear or anxiousness. Ya’ll already know we take accountability here, so we all know (myself included) that we shouldn’t use intelligence to rationalize ignorance. We are operating from spirit, loves!
Life entails many lessons. Learning to trust your intuition as much as possible is surely one to learn and love. Trusting it will aid you, guide you and even protect you.
We all have the honor of knowing and being connected to Mama Intuition, let’s not alienate her from ourselves. Keep her close, sit still in your mind and spirit, listen when she speaks and experience growth.
