The bare minimum is not soul food.
Yeah, I said it. The bare minimum ain’t soul food!
Now, I’m not talking about the “little things”.
You know; the sweet, little things that people do to indicate that they genuinely value you. I’m talking about the “absolutely nothings” or “half things” that we force into BIG things just to justify or magnify someone’s place in our lives. (calling us out per usual)
Do you enjoy halves?
I don’t.
You deserve whole fruit, not holes in your fruit. (which by the way indicates that they’re rotten… ew.)
Too many times, too many of us settle for bits, pieces and crumbs of soul nourishment. Why we out here starving?
Looks like we got an appetite to build, huh?
The same way that your brain lets you know that you’re not eating properly is the same way your spirit will let you know that it’s not being properly nourished.
See, whether you’re intentionally skipping meals or just not eating enough, you’ll know. Your body feels it.
Your soul is no different, your soul can starve too.
Feed it and allow it to be fed. Your spirit knows what it needs.
Allow it to digest consistency, reciprocity, security, respect, truth, balance, order. Allow it to digest understanding, allow it to digest love.
Feel me?
The bare minimum foods of inconsistency, shaky foundations, struggle, dishonesty, imbalance, chaos, neglect and constant misunderstanding will cause malnutrition to the soul. Not to mention it’s for the birds. (then again, the birds probably don’t even want that shit)
Stop settling for crumbs when you know spirit needs AND deserves more…
“EAT RIGHT.”
One more gem before we catch up next time, remember to feed yourself. While we now know that we’re NO longer settling for halves, we should also remember to feed ourselves, daily. That way, we become whole within ourselves first. (very important!)
Let’s feed ourselves too!- with all of what we desire and more. Self care is nourishing!
